State Rep. Kevin Priola, R-Henderson today saw his fourth bill sent to the governor for his signature. Senate Bill 147 would help certain water users in the South Platte River Basin address their water debts, without injuring senior water rights.
“This is an important measure for farmers in our area,” said Priola. “We are helping many these farmers grow save their farms.”
SB 147 joins ranks with three other measures that Priola successfully moved through the legislature and were signed into law, including House Bill 1109, HB1159 and HB 1128.
HB 1109 extends the existing protection for struggling homeowners facing foreclosure. HB 1159 expands the local applicant pool for ground water management boards. HB 1128 makes it easier for dental schools like CU’s Fitzsimons Hospital to hire dentists.
Each of Priola’s bills passed with bipartisan support.
“The fact that each of these bills passed without a partisan fight is testament to what we can do in the legislature if we put the needs of our constituents first,” Priola said.
