Area teens can get their fill of fun with a variety of exciting programs at the Commerce City Recreation Center, just in time for warmer weather. Check out the daily activities and special middle-school and high-school nights this May. Other great activities include Teen Scene Summer Camp, the Hiking Club and an overnight camping trip that you won’t want to miss!
Drop-in activities
Drop by for some fun with friends in the Recreation Center’s teen room, open 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 5:30-9 p.m. on Friday.
Teens can get into Nintendo Wii games, play pool, ping-pong, make crafts, or put together puzzles. The fee for teen drop-in activities is included in the facility drop-in fee. Call (303) 289-3760 for drop-in rates. Drop-in activities end May 31 – don’t miss out!
May Teen Nights
Middle-school and high-school students have the Recreation Center all to themselves during these special events. Come hang out on a Saturday night and enjoy hours of fun. Events on both nights are 7-10 p.m. The fee is $2 per person.
May 9, Middle School Night (grades 6-8 only) – Spring Dance
May 16, High School Night (grades 9-12 only*) – Pool Party

Summer Camp
Don’t miss this fun and exciting camp for teens; the deadline for enrollment in Teen Scene Summer Camp is May 11. Hurry to be a part of 2009 Teen Scene activities, which include fun field trips, great games, cool crafts, super sports, team building activities and more. Teen Scene is for teens 11-15 and runs for 10 one-week sessions. The weekly fee is $120 for residents, $145 for nonresidents.
Hiking Club
Come explore the great outdoors: the Hiking Club meets on various Saturdays during the summer and features a different adventure each time. Some of the fun hikes planned this summer include trips to Gem Lake, Eldorado Canyon, Longs Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park and more.

Overnight Camping Trip
Join us for a three-day/two-night camping adventure that includes horseback rides, swimming, games, cooking your own food and sleeping under the stars. For teen 11-18, this trip is scheduled June 10-12. The fee is $120 for residents, $145 for nonresidents. Register by June 3.
