“Having worked in a number of professional environments, I know that a school is a special place to work. We are entrusted by parents with their greatest treasures,” Clow said. “We have a mission almost unlike any other, to help young people prepare for the wider world.”
Clow comes to Northeast from 27J’s South Elementary where most recently he has served as dean and as a literacy resource teacher. Before that appointment, Clow taught first grade at South, and in the Denver Public Schools and Chicago.
Before joining public education, Clow was operations manager for the 10th largest law firm in the United States, managing seven administrative departments with 90 staff members.
“After working my way from supply clerk to operations manager at a Chicago firm, I found myself volunteering in a reading program at a residential care facility,” Clow said. “The students captured my heart and lead me to teaching.
“Family, and the incredible mountain beauty, brought me to Colorado. Working with Kay Collins and the incredible professionals at South brought me to Brighton.”
Clow completed the University of Colorado principal’s licensure program. He earned his master’s of education at the University of Illinois and his bachelor’s in international studies from the American University in Washington, D.C.
“I am grateful for my opportunity to serve 27J and the Northeast community in this role.”
Clow said he is “excited to meet everyone from the Northeast community. Over the coming months, I hope to hear their thoughts, ideas, hopes and dreams and learn more about the many strengths of the school and the community.
“Teacher, paraprofessional, school secretary, custodian and principal: the focus remains for us all to ensure student safety and to support student learning. I am ready to get started.”
