COMMERCE CITY ― On Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at approximately 3:52 p.m., a Commerce City officer observed a grey Ford F-250 driving erratically on E. 56th Avenue and Holly Street. The officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle as it sped westbound past Highway 85. The officer observed the pickup strike another vehicle at the intersection of E. 56th Avenue and Brighton Boulevard.
After the minor accident, the vehicle continued driving northbound on Brighton Boulevard. The driver lost control of the pickup truck in the 6200 block of Brighton Boulevard, and the pickup rolled several times.
The driver and passenger of the pickup both got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, one occupant was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital for unknown injuries. Police conducted a search for the other occupant of the pickup, but were unable to locate him.
The suspect is described as a white male, 18-21 years old, 5’6”-5’8”, 130-150 pounds, and brown hair. He was injured in the accident and was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and no shoes.
