STAND UP FOR THE COLORADO SPECIAL OLYMPICS


On Sunday, November 8, 2009, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting “Stand Up for the Challenge”, a comedy show to benefit Colorado Special Olympics. The event will be held in the Dome of the Adams County Regional Park, 9755 Henderson Road, Brighton, Colorado, and is being presented by The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) and “The One Challenge.”

“Stand Up for the Challenge” will feature special guest Bob Meddles and will include such noted comedians as Dan McGowan, Niraj-Naik, Paul Berlute-Shea, Jesse Carter, Jordan Zuckerman, Jodee Champion, and Talon Saucerman. Stand-up comedian (and Deputy) Matthew Thornton, will host the event. There will be a silent auction prior to the show and all proceeds from the evening will go directly to Special Olympics Colorado.


The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for the silent auction and the show will start at 7:30 p.m. The show will include comedy intended for adults 18 years of age and older. Tickets are $15.00 per person and are available at the door or through www.costore.com/soco (click on the ‘Event Tickets’ tab).

The “One Challenge” is an effort founded by the Sheriff’s office to encourage every citizen of Adams County to contribute at least one dollar to Special Olympics Colorado annually.
