Dads, daughters to get ‘star treatment’ at Oscar-themed dance

COMMERCE CITY – Dads, uncles and grandfather too – don your fanciest attire and escort your little sweetheart down the red carpet to this year’s Daddy-Daughter Sweetheart Dance, Feb. 5 at the Commerce City Recreation Center.

You and your date will get star treatment at this annual event, themed ‘A Night at the Oscars’ and packed with fun!

What: Daddy-Daughter Sweetheart Dance
When: Friday, Feb. 5
Time: 6-9 p.m.
Where: Commerce City Recreation Center, 6060 E. Parkway Drive

Along with a night of dancing, participants can compete in costume and dance contests, win prizes, play games and enjoy a special evening with family. Refreshments are included and photos will be available for a small fee.

For many Commerce City residents, the Daddy-Daughter Sweetheart Dance is a family tradition, and fathers and daughters look forward to this event every year.

“We have several participants that have been coming for several years,” says event organizer Jenna Johnson, with the Recreation Center. “This is a very special time for fathers and daughters and it’s wonderful to see them get closer at our dance.”

Participants can save on the entry fee by registering early. Before Feb. 3, the fee is $10 per resident, $12 per nonresident. After that date, the fee will be raised. For more information and to register, call the Recreation Center at 303-289-3760.
