FORT CARSON SOLDIER ARRESTED FOR INTERNET LURING OF A CHILD

On March 10, 2010, the Adams County Sheriff's Office arrested Brian Kelly Wells, 28, of Colorado Springs. Wells was arrested and charged with internet luring of a child, internet sexual exploitation of a child, and attempted sexual assault on a child.

Wells is a Sergeant in the United States Army and is stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. Wells became a suspect during an online operation targeting internet predators. He allegedly arranged to have a sexual encounter with a person he believed to be an underage girl. Wells was actually communicating with an undercover deputy. Wells drove from Colorado Springs to a residence in Adams County where he had arranged to meet with the girl for sex. Wells arrived at the residence and knocked on the door where detectives met him and took him into custody without incident. Wells was wearing his military uniform at the time of his arrest. Wells was arrested and booked into the Adams County Detention Facility where he was held until being released to the Military Police on March 11, 2010.
