Washington, DC – Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, released the following statement regarding recently published news reports about Fort Carson’s Warrior Transition Unit (WTU):“Our wounded warriors deserve the best possible treatment and medical attention we, as a nation, can provide. I am very troubled by news reports printed this weekend regarding the condition of care at the Mountain Post’s Warrior Transition Unit. These allegations are very serious and deserve a closer look to determine what we can do to address the growing incidence of psychological trauma among our returning veterans.”
“In the coming days, I will follow up with Army officials regarding the conditions of care at Fort Carson and other WTU’s across the country. My top priority is the health and well-being of our returning soldiers and their families.”
