FIRST LADY JEANNIE RITTER RECEIVES ADOLESCENT MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCACY AWARD

First Lady Jeannie Ritter was honored at the annual dinner meeting of the Rocky Mountain Regional Chapter of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine yesterday evening. Mrs. Ritter was awarded the Kathleen Ann Mullen Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Adolescent Health for her advocacy of mental health issues for adolescents in Colorado.

“It is with great honor that I receive this award and I do so in hopes of raising awareness for mental health issues within our communities, families, schools, juvenile justice systems and every place that touches a child’s life,” said Mrs. Ritter. “Recognizing mental health and providing adequate services for all our youth protects our greatest resource – our children.

“I want to thank the Rocky Mountain Regional Chapter of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine for all the work it has done to make mental health services available and to make such a difference in the lives of Colorado’s children.”
