Green Market Festival at Mile High Marketplace

Saturday and Sunday, April 17 and 18, became the place to be to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. The weekend kicked off with a huge recycling drop off. The younger crowd got to plant seedlings and adults were taught different ways to go green.

Replace incandescent light bulbs with CFLs.
Lower the wattage of your incandescent light bulbs.
Turn off the lights.
Maintain your HVAC system.
Redirect air flow.
Weather strip doors and windows.
Use window coverings to help cool and heat your home.
Knock out vampire power.
Replace old appliances with energy star rated appliances.
Reduce your dry time with Nelly’s Dryer Balls.
Get a jacket for your water heater and lower the temperature.
Get rid of leaks.
Turn off your faucet.
Replace aerators, toilets, and shower heads to low flow.
Use drip irrigation.
Use a rain gauge.
Rethink your lawn mowing routine.
Compost.
Ditch the bottled water.
Utilize reusable items.
