Jefferson County Reappoints Kathleen Stapleton to the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District Board of Directors

DENVER, April 23, 2010 - Jefferson County Commissioners appointed Kathleen Stapleton to a second term on the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District. Ms. Stapleton, a resident of Lakewood, was first appointed to the District's board of directors in March 2007 and commenced her second term at the board's April 22, 2010 meeting. Her prior public service includes serving on the Lakewood City Council and as Senior Resources Coordinator for the Regional Transportation District.

The SCFD facilitates distribution of the voter-approved retail sales and use tax funds to organizations that provide for the enlightenment and entertainment of the public through the production, presentation, exhibition, advancement or preservation of art, music, theatre, dance, zoology, botany, natural history or cultural history.
