27J School District school board began the process of filling the unexpired term of Lynn Ann Sheats

27J School board member Lynn Ann Shea (District 7) was hired as the 27J assistant to the superintendent Rod Blunck, as a result, Sheats resigned from the school board.

This leaves a school board vacancy that will need to be filled in 2 months. The appointee will finish Sheats’ term, which expires in 2011.

If you are interested serving you have until June 18th to turn in your application to the school district office located at 18551 E. 160th Ave. The board would like the new person to be on board by the time it reconvenes in August.

Sheats’ district, District 7 includes the Northern Commerce City area that is within the school district boundaries. The main area takes in 120th Avenue from Brighton Road east to Interstate 76 and south along the interstate to 112th Avenue. The district also takes areas between the South Platte River and Brighton Road and extends north to 123rd Avenue along Brighton Road.

The following process will be followed:
a. Articles announcing the vacancy will be placed on the District’s website. CLICK HERE
b. Letters will be sent to residents of District 7 explaining the process for filling the position.
c. An informational meeting for interested parties will be held on June 22 at 7:00 at the Educational Service Center.
d. Interviews will be held on June 29 beginning at 6:30 at the ESC.
