DENVER, May 17, 2010 – Grant applications are now being accepted for the seventeenth annual Wells Fargo Community Assistance Fund, it was announced today by Nathan Christian, regional president for Wells Fargo in Colorado. Applications, available at all Wells Fargo stores throughout the state, are due June 30, 2010.

Through the fund, Wells Fargo will contribute to more than 200 qualified community-based non-profit organizations. Eligible organizations must be certified 501(c)(3) and have an annual budget of $350,000 or less.

“We’re extremely pleased to continue this 17-year tradition of helping grass roots organizations that work so hard and do so much to keep Colorado a great place to live, work and do business,” Christian said. “The Wells Fargo Community Assistance Fund is a component of our overall philanthropic efforts. In 2009, we gave $4.3 million to approximately 1,000 organizations in our state.”

For additional information or to receive an application by mail, organizations should contact their local Wells Fargo store.

The Wells Fargo Community Assistance Fund was started in 1993 to provide greatly needed support to small, non-profit groups that don’t have the resources to compete with larger organizations for community support dollars.
