RELAY FOR LIFE BENEFIT CONCERT at the ARMORY

RELAY FOR LIFE BENEFIT CONCERT at the ARMORY SATURDAY, MAY 15, 2010 at 7:00pm Featuring JACK GAFFNEY, and headliner SLOPESIDE

The Armory at Brighton Cultural Center is going to be rockin’ this weekend! Valley Bank & Trust is thrilled to present the band Slopeside, with special opening act, singer/song-writer Jack Gaffney, at 7:00pm. The all-ages concert is a fundraiser for Valley Bank and Trust’s Relay for Life Team, and all proceeds will go to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Doors open at 6:30pm, and admission to the concert is $7. Tickets are available at Valley Bank and Trust location in Brighton OR on Saturday night at the door before the concert. Get there early for a great seat!

Jack Gaffney the opener, is a 12-year-old singer, song-writer, musician and performer. Jack plays his piano-driven rock n roll in venues around the Denver area, amazing and entertaining audiences with a talent and stage presence that is astounding for his age. Jack also plays guitar, harmonica, cello, drums, and classical piano. He studies music theory at a college level, and is composing a symphony for a full orchestra. (Yes, we said symphony. And yes, we said TWELVE YEARS OLD.) He is currently a featured band on internet radio www.jammin5280radio.com, which will be live-streaming Saturday’s concert via internet.

Jack most recently performed at the COMBO Music Expo in Englewood, and requests for him to perform around the Denver Metro area are accelerating! He has also played at the Tufts Theatre at Swallow Hill, and gigs at the Children’s Hospital in Denver, Oskar Blues in Lyons, Ziggie’s Saloon in Denver, and at the Jamalama Music Festival in Longmont.

Slopeside, from Boulder, formed in 2005 and is known for performing great classic and contemporary rock. This 5-piece band also has a great original song set, thanks to Front Man Arn Current, whose songwriting and vocal performances are second to none! Slopeside has played all across Colorado, from the ski resorts to Little Bear, from Thunder Mountain to Herman’s Hideway, fans always expect to see a first rate rock performance, and this band doesn’t disappoint.
