ARTFest!! at the Armory at Brighton Cultural Center

Saturday, June 5th, 2010 from 11:00am-5:00pm

The Armory at Brighton Cultural Center is thrilled to announce the opening of our current display with ARTFest!!, a day-long celebration of artists from Brighton and the surrounding communities! This display, put together and hosted by the Brighton Cultural Arts Commission, will feature 24 artists and over 50 pieces in acrylic, oil, watercolor, and photography. The display also showcases several stunning 3-dimensional pieces from local artists.
ARTFest!! is part of Brighton Cultural Arts Commission’s Arts Awareness Project, started in 2004 and funded in part by a grant from the Scientific and Facilities Cultural District. The goal of this ongoing project is to engage folks from Brighton and the surrounding rural communities in the creative process, both as artists and audience. Although BCAC stages up to 5 events per year under the Project grant, the ARTFest!! display is the Commission’s signature show, featuring artists of all ages, from all walks of life, and (of course) having the desire to create and enlighten through paint, photography, and other mediums.

This is the first year that this show has been staged in the Armory, and it promises to be wonderful! On Saturday, June 5, the Armory will be hosting an OPEN HOUSE from 11:00am-5:00pm, so that the community can come in and browse the art on display in the beautiful Armory theatre. Admission is FREE and everyone is welcome, and if you haven’t visited the Armory yet since its reopening in October 2009, this is the perfect opportunity! Enjoy the art on display, take a tour of the facility, and grab a schedule of upcoming events! The artists will be joining us from 1:00pm-3:00pm for a “Celebration of Artists” meet and greet reception where you can get a personal perspective of the beautiful pieces that are on display.

After Saturday’s event, the art will remain on display until July 19, 2010. The Armory doors are open weekdays from 9:00am-4:00pm for anybody who would like to come in and browse this beautiful, diverse display of local talent.

For additional information on this event, and upcoming events at the Armory, can be found on the Armory’s website at, or by calling 303-655-2026.
