MICHAEL BENNET SAID: “WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THESE BACK ROOMS? WHAT DEALS ARE YOU CUTTING BACK THERE?”

AND COLORADO REPUBLICANS AGREE: MICHAEL BENNET SHOULD REVEAL CONTACTS WITH WHITE HOUSE ON ROMANOFF BRIBE

DENVER – Colorado Republicans today challenged appointed Senator Michael Bennet to be consistent with his own rhetoric and reveal contacts with the White House regarding the attempted bribery of Andrew Romanoff.

“Michael Bennet correctly said the American people are asking ‘What are you doing in these back rooms? What deals are you cutting back there?’ and it’s time Michael Bennet answered those questions on his involvement in the Romanoff bribe,” said Colorado Republican Chairman Dick Wadhams. “Michael Bennet has refused to answer questions which speak loudly to his involvement in the Romanoff bribe.”

“Michael Bennet along with his official office and campaign staffs should reveal all phone and email contacts with the White House on the back room bribe offered to Andrew Romanoff.”

Bennet, who was raised in Washington, D.C. where he attended the exclusive, private St. Alban’s school and worked in the Clinton Administration, has attacked Washington, D.C. in his campaign television ads.

Bennet responded to a question on health care reform in ColoradoBiz magazine just last week on June 1, 2010 saying “I do think what we should learn from a debate where the American people looked at it at the end -and I share this view- said, ‘What are you doing in these back rooms? What deals are you cutting back there?’ “

“Colorado’s accidental senator should end his silence and reveal what role he had in the attempted White House bribe of Andrew Romanoff,” Wadhams said. “Bennet is a Washingtonian to his core and his silence on the Romanoff bribe is terribly consistent with this fact.”
