UPDATE on South Adams Co. Water and Sanitation Sewage Spill

A manhole cover had been removed and was filled with rocks, which caused the sewage to backup and spill out into a large area of the field.

UPDATE: Removal of the affected soil has been completed and replaced with clean soil mixed with lime to neutralize any lingering odor and bacteria.

The temporary access road will be abandoned and returned to normal grade in approximately two weeks once site sampling and re-vegetation of the area has occurred.

Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and the Tri-County Health Department will continue to work with the District until remediation has been completed.

As additional information is available, this message will be updated. Thank you for your cooperation during the cleanup efforts.
