Enrollment begins soon for Kinder Kids preschool program

COMMERCE CITY – Summer is flying by and soon children will be returning to school. For parents with preschool-age children, now is the time to decide on a preschool, an important first step on the path to a good education.

Kinder Kids helps your child get off to a great start with a curriculum that makes learning fun.

Enrollment begins Aug. 2 for the Kinder Kids program at the Commerce City Recreation Center.

A state-licensed program, Kinder Kids teaches young minds through small group interaction and age-appropriate activities such as art, music, movement, dramatic play and storytelling.

Children learn what to expect in a school setting, and that learning can be fun. What seems like a game to parents – and the children themselves – is teaching participants how to share, how to communicate, how things work and more.

A tea party becomes a lesson in social skills. An outdoor adventure teaches children about their environment. Game playing promotes math skills; gym games promote exercise and coordination skills; and simple dress-up games can be an exercise in using the imagination.

With a high teacher-student ratio, Kinder Kids students at the Commerce City Recreation Center get lots of attention and one-on-one time with instructors.

The 2010 Kinder Kids school year is September through May. Classes run 9-11:30 a.m. Monday-Thursday. Specialty classes round out the week and are available as a separate registration. These themed programs are offered every Friday. Separate specialty classes are available for ages 3-5 and for ages 18 months-3 years.
