Flags to Fly Proudly at Every Library

For many years, the American flag has been proudly flown outside the headquarters building of the Adams County Library District at 8992 Washington Street in Thornton, Colorado. A new flag was recently installed there. Historically, exterior flags were never routinely installed in front of every branch.
The Rangeview Library District board decided on July 1 that American flags will be flown on flagpoles installed in front of every library branch in the district. Installation of the flagpoles will take place over the next few weeks at the various library locations.

Exterior American flags are currently flying in front of the Thornton branch at 89th Ave. and Washington Street, and the Brighton branch at the Brighton Cultural Center at 3rd Ave. and Strong Street in Brighton. A flag will fly over the new Wright Farms branch at 120th Ave. and Holly Street on July 10, grand opening day. The Wright Farms branch also will become the new district headquarters when it opens. An exterior flag also will be installed in front of the recently opened Huron Street branch this summer.

Exterior flags will fly in front of the renovated Commerce City branch when it reopens to the public this fall and the renovated Perl Mack branch when it reopens in early 2011.
In the past, not every Rangeview library branch had a flag in its community room. Now, every library branch has a new presentation-quality American flag in its main community room.

The district fully supports the patriotism of the Adams County community. The American flag is part of our heritage and is now a permanent part of our libraries. The Rangeview Library District has worked diligently to bring our community the best libraries possible and this will continue. Thank you to the residents of Adams County for your continued support.
