Bomb Threat Made to Prairie View High School

Update: 27J have received the information from the Brighton Police Department that all is clear at Prairie View High School and the school building is safe for students to return to a normal school schedule tomorrow, August 25. Two PVHS students were questioned about the incident and released. The investigation revealed that no bomb threats were made to either police or school officials, and the electronics were determined to be a home-made battery charger one of the students had built. During the course of the investigation, the school was thoroughly searched with the assistance of the Adams County Sheriff’s Department, and no explosives were found. All afternoon and evening activities have been canceled today August 24th Tuesday.

An alleged bomb threat has been made to Prairie View High School All students evacuated and safe. Building is being checked and secured. Safety of students is the highest priority. The district activated its automated phone system to advise Prairie View High School parents about the incident. All other schools in the district are continuing normal activities and are not impacted.

Due to the length of the time it is going to take to clear Prairie View High School after the bomb threat, students are going to be moved to Prairie View Middle School except for students who drive their own car to school.

Here is what you need to know:
· Students who have their cars at Prairie View High School will be allowed to drive home from school. IDs will be checked as they leave, and the only students who may ride with them are their siblings.

· Students who ride the bus will be moved to Prairie View Middle School, and will be released from there after 1 p.m. 27J buses will transport students to their normal bus stop.

· Students who are normally picked up by parents can be picked up from Prairie View Middle School after 1 p.m. Administrators at the site will be taking care of that.

· Students who normally walk home or ride with another student will be at Prairie View Middle either until they are picked up by a parent, or they will be released at 2:30 as normal.
