Adams County sheriff's deputies and the Colorado State Patrol are teaming up for a pair of DUI checkpoints this weekend.
They will run from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., Aug. 20 and 21 in support of "The Heat is On" campaign. CSP Sgt. John Hahn said a drunk driver costs a life about every 43 hours on the state's roads. Seventy-seven fatal accidents were the result of drunk or drugged driving in 2009 on Colorado roads.
