GOV. RITTER ORDERS FLAGS LOWERED IN HONOR OF FALLEN ARMY SERGEANT

Gov. Bill Ritter has ordered that all U.S. and Colorado flags be lowered to half staff at state and federal facilities throughout Colorado on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, in honor of Army Sgt. Faith Hinkley of Monte Vista.

Sgt. Hinkley died Aug. 7 in Baghdad after she was wounded in a rocket explosion. An Army specialist at the time of her death, she was posthumously promoted to sergeant. She graduated from Monte Vista High School in 2006. Her funeral service is set for Tuesday at the high school. Gov. Ritter is scheduled to attend.
