New deadline for the “Aquatic Park Naming Contest”

The city of Brighton is seeking a name for the new Outdoor Family Aquatic Park scheduled to open in summer 2011 at 1852 E. Bromley Lane. All entries must now be received by 5 p.m. on Monday,
Sept. 6. There is no limit to how many entries a person can submit.

Entries can be submitted by filling out the form on the city’s Web site, www.brightonco.gov, dropping off or mailing the entry to the Parks and Recreation office, 1901 E. Bridge St., by fax to 303-655-2131, or by emailing dsecord@brightonco.gov with “Aquatic Park Name Contest” in the subject line.

The top five names chosen will be requested to complete a Park Naming Petition according to the city’s Naming Policy, which can be found on the city’s Web site. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and the City Council will then choose the winning name.

The winner will be chosen at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 7.
