
Brighton officers were originally dispatched to a report of a car fire in the area of 2nd Ave. and Bromley Lane at about 3:34 a.m.; at approximately 4:19 a.m., police received reports of two vehicles on fire in the vicinity of 4th Ave. and Bush St., where it appeared that one burning vehicle had ignited a second nearby.
A Brighton officer contacted DeJesus walking in the area of 13th Ave. and Egbert St. at about 4:37 a.m.; as a result of that investigation, DeJesus was taken into custody at that location at 4:52 a.m. on multiple counts of Second Degree Arson and First Degree Criminal Trespass. Additional damage to vehicles was reported in the 100 block of S. 10th Ave., the 300 block of S. 3rd Ave., and the 500 block of S. 2nd Ave., all in Brighton.
