Highlights of the Boys & Girls Club at Kearney Middle School in Commerce City

The Boys & Girls Club at Kearney Middle School has achieved a number of Highlights while serving the most at risk children in Commerce City as their mission suggest they work to inspire and enable young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

Among the highlights for this year of services their programs achieved the following:
- The Boys & Girls Club at Kearney Middle School in Commerce City has seen an increase of 88% in service hours
- 30% increase in total membership
- A Commerce City Boys & Girls Club participant won first place in the southwest regional Digital Arts Festival for her entry "The Nature of Love" in graphic design
- Two of the 18 image Makers Photography Contest and one of the Fine Arts Exhibit city winners were from the Commerce City Club
- 49 Commerce City participants received entry into the Gates Camp this past summer where they participated in activities such as hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, archery, hands-on environmental games and other outdoor activities.
- 76 Commerce City youth took part in the What Moves U - Play 60 Program where they collectively participated in 478 hours of physical activities.
- Club members won in several categories such as math, spelling, geography, trivia and science at the 2009 Boys & Girls Club State Education Day event.
