On Tuesday, October 12, 2010, Bernadette Jaquez, 27, of unincorporated Adams County, was found unresponsive in her cell within the Medical Unit of the Adams County Detention Facility. Jaquez was transported to an area hospital and a short time later she was pronounced dead.Jaquez was brought into the facility on October 8, 2010 by the Westminster Police Department and was serving a 45-day sentence for a theft charge. During a routine check, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Jaquez was found unresponsive and medical assistance was provided. Jaquez was transported to an area hospital and at approximately 9:50 p.m. she was pronounced dead.
The cause of death is under investigation but there is no indication of foul play at this time.
