Adams County Sheriff Doug Darr lifted the Fire Hazard Emergency Ban

On October 21, 2010, Adams County Sheriff Doug Darr lifted the Fire Hazard Emergency Ban that had been ordered on September 24, 2010. The ban had been in effect for all portions of unincorporated Adams County east of Gun Club Road.

The Sheriff’s position as fire warden for his County obligates him to take charge of, control, and extinguish forest and prairie fires under Colorado Revised Statute 18-8-101 (1) (2). The emergency ban was lifted because the fire danger in eastern Adams County is no longer considered extreme.
