Red Ribbon Week in Adams County

The Adams County Board of Commissioners proclaimed Oct. 23 – Oct. 31, 2010 to be Red Ribbon Week in Adams County. Red Ribbon Week calls awareness to the epidemic levels of alcohol and drug abuse in the United States and steps that can be taken to address the problem.
Children are faced with decisions about using alcohol, tobacco and other drugs as early as their elementary school years. Adams County’s goal is to involve families, schools, businesses, churches, law enforcement agencies and service organizations in Red Ribbon efforts to establish an atmosphere that supports awareness, education and on-going initiatives to prevent the use of illegal drugs and the illegal use of legal drugs.
