Perlmutter Announces Tax Refunds Available For More than 2,100 Coloradans

More than $500,000 in Refunds Available to 617 People in Adams, Arapahoe and Jefferson Counties

Lakewood, CO -- Every year thousands of Coloradans miss out on their tax return money because the IRS does not have their correct mailing address or because they have moved. Today, Congressman Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) announced more than 2,100 Coloradans are due refund checks worth over $2.1 million dollars. This includes refunds for over half a million dollars for more than 600 people in Adams, Arapahoe and Jefferson Counties.

“This much needed money belongs to the hard working people in Colorado and the 7th Congressional District,” said Perlmutter. “I want to make sure everyone who is entitled to a tax refund knows about it and can get the money they are owed. This will be a much needed resource for people during the holiday season.”

For more information about how to obtain their refund, people should go to the "Where's My Refund?" tool on IRS.gov which enables taxpayers to check the status of their refunds. The website will provide the status of the refund and, in some cases, provide instructions on how to resolve delivery problems in addition to being able to change your address. If accessing the Internet is not possible, taxpayers can call 1-800-829-1954 and receive instructions on how to update their mailing information. Residents of the 7th Congressional District can also call Congressman Perlmutter’s District Office at 303.274.7944 with questions and to check and see if they are eligible for the refund.
