Rapids to wear Burgundy in Toronto

by German Sferra

Commerce City, Colo. - Major League Soccer held a conference call on Monday morning with MLS Cup finalists Colorado Rapids and FC Dallas to determine five factors ahead of the title match, held at Toronto's BMO Field on Nov. 21 (6:30 pm MT, ESPN and Galavision).

With the Championship game held at a neutral site, teams had to select which lockerroom / bench to use, which uniform to wear, which hotel to stay in, and which practice time they wanted on Friday or Saturday (MLS presets practice times and team hotels).

Dallas, having accumulated more points during the regular season, chose first and elected to utilize the CSA locker room and bench, which is on the right as the teams walk out of the tunnel at BMO Field. Colorado will utilize the customary visiting team locker room and bench on the left side.

The Rapids then chose to wear their primary burgundy uniform with white shorts. FC Dallas will wear their secondary blue and white striped uniform.

Dallas then selected one of the two available hotels, with Colorado getting the other.

Colorado then could select either the early or later practice time on either day, and chose to train after Dallas in the 11:45 am slot on Saturday. Dallas then chose the morning practice time on Friday.
