27J DR. CHRIS FIEDLER IS NOMINATED FOR PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR!

Good Principals help students set goals...Great Principals inspire students to achieve them.

Dr. Chris Fiedler has been nominated for the MetLife/NASSP National Principal of the year for 2011. This program is a celebration of the principals whose accomplishments reflect their essential role in developing and prepaelection include personal excellence, collaborative leadership, curriculum assessment, instructional assessment and personalization of a school environment.

Dr. Fiedler’s career began at Limon Jr.-Sr. High school as a social studies teacher and counselor in 1993. He was named principal of Limon Jr-Sr. High School in 1995 and served in that role until 1998. He served as superintendent in Black Hawk, Colorado from 1998 to 2001 and in Deer Trail, Colorado from 2001 to 2005. Dr. Fiedler came to School District 27J in 2004 when he was named principal at Thimmig K-8, now Thimmig Elementary School. In 2008, Dr. Fiedler was selected to serve as principal at Prairie View High School.

He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado, his Master’s Degree from the University of Phoenix, and his Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. When asked about his nomination, he replied, “I am extremely humbled and honored to have been nominated for this award.” “I am blessed by exceptional students, parents, staff and community members at Prairie View High School as well as strong support, service, and leadership from the District.”

No matter what the outcome, we know we have a winner already
