Banking Commissioner Resigns

Steven Strunk has submitted his resignation as Colorado Banking Commissioner within the Department of Regulatory Agencies, effective January 1, 2011. Barbara Kelley, DORA Executive Director, has accepted Strunk’s resignation.

Ms. Kelley expresses her appreciation and gratitude for the service Mr. Strunk provided the State as Bank Commissioner the past eight months. Ms. Kelley states that Mr. Strunk’s banking knowledge and expertise have been invaluable to the Division of Banking. Mr. Strunk expresses his gratitude to the staff in the Banking Division for their dedication, saying “it has been an honor and privilege to work with the staff and to serve the people of the Colorado.”

Mr. Strunk desires to return to the private banking industry, where he has been a leader for over 35 years. Colorado Securities Commissioner Fred Joseph will serve as the acting Commissioner of Banking.
