2011 Adams County Inauguration

Three newly elected officials and four re-elected officials were sworn into office at the Adams County Inauguration Ceremony on Jan. 11, 2011. The Honorable C. Vincent Phelps, Chief Judge of the 17th Judicial District, administered the oaths to the seven elected officials, along with the district and county judges who were retained in the November 2010 election.

"It is an honor to serve Adams County as an elected official and it has been a privilege to serve as the chairman of the Board of County Commissioners in 2010," said Alice J. Nichol. "I look forward to beginning a partnership with the newly elected officials in Adams County, as we embark upon opportunities to serve our community for the highest public good. As public servants, we provide a vital service to the community. In these uncertain economic times, elected officials, at all levels of government, are working harder than ever to ensure that those we represent get the assistance they need, with a vision from their elected officials of how to move our communities forward.

Chief Phelps administered the Oath of Office to Erik Hansen, County Commissioner; Gil Reyes, Assessor; Karen Long, Clerk & Recorder; Monica Broncucia-Jordan, Coroner; Doug Darr, Sheriff; Tim Thoms, Surveyor; Brigitte Grimm, Treasurer and the 17th Judicial District judges.

The board of commissioners will hold their first public hearing in the new Government Center on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011. This will be Commissioner Erik Hansen's first official day of county business.
