Brighton Police make arrests in homicide

Brighton police have arrested two men suspected in the killing of 67-year-old George Lindeboom, of Brighton.

Acting upon information obtained as they worked through the night, Brighton detectives determined the two men were inside a residence located at 383 South 27th Ave., in Brighton. At approximately 6:10 a.m., Brighton officers and Adams County SWAT team members entered the house and arrested the two males without incident.

25 year-old Evan Michael Lawlor and 18-year-old Ryker Jacob Schlitt, both of Brighton, are being held on charges of Murder in the First Degree. Although accused in the crime, both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

Brighton police were assisted in the investigation by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.

The case against the two men is expected to be presented to the Adams County District Attorney’s office next week.
