One Killed on I-25 in Thornton

The Thornton Police are investigating a accident that happened on I-25 North this Martin Luther King Day around 4 p.m.

A semi truck heading on the south bound lanes lost two of its back tires, which resulted in the tires flying into the north bound lanes of I-25 striking a Toyota Camry, killing the 35-year-old driver. The driver who was killed has been identified as Jennifer Marie Durazo, 35, of Frederick

The truck belongs to Z Line Ltd. of Toledo, Ohio. The identity of the driver who died has not been released.

Records show the Ohio trucking company was recently involved in one other fatality.
