School District 27J 4th Annual School District Wellness Fair

The fourth annual School District 27J Wellness Fair will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 29, 2011, at Prairie View Middle School, 12915 120th Ave. in Henderson. The fair is open to everyone and offers many fun activities and great information for all ages.

Highlights:
• The Brighton Police Department will be on hand with the physical agility test each officer candidate has to complete to become a police officer. Come see if you have what it takes to complete the obstacle course in qualifying time.
• Platte Valley Medical Center is sponsoring a cooking demonstration on healthy dinner ideas.
• Finger printing station will be available for child safety.
• The Brighton Boys and Girls Club Cheer Team will perform.
• Rampart Search and Rescue will be there with their dog.
• Bonfils Blood Center is sponsoring a blood drive, for more information contact Katie Lopez at (303)655-2863.

Sponsored by the 27J Wellness Committee, the goal is to promote healthy living for all, and to continue the group’s wellness activities that promote health and fitness all year through the schools.

There will be family games, health screenings, activities for all ages, vendor booths with health, wellness and nutrition information and giveaways.

“This is a great opportunity for residents of the 27J community to learn about resources available related to wellness in our communities while having fun,” said Tony Jorstad, director of Nutrition Services for the district.
