School District 27J will be participating in the ACYI (Adams County Youth Initiative) Adams County Camp this year. This is an exciting opportunity for our students in 3rd – 7th grades to attend a very low cost, high-quality camp with an intention to prevent summer learning loss and improve behavior.Listed below is the pertinent information:
Enrollment:
Open Lottery, from March 7 – April 4; families notified of status by April 29, 2011
Selection:
Drawn randomly by family, not by individual youth; families not initially drawn will be placed on a wait-list
When:
June 13 – July 21, Monday thru Thursday, 8:30am – 3:30pm; youth are allowed a total of 4 absences
Locations:
Scott Carpenter Middle School, 7001 Lipan Street, Denver (220 total openings)
Adams City Middle School, 4451 E. 72nd Avenue, Commerce City (220 total openings)
Cost:
$50 per child for all six weeks, this includes lunch, snacks, & supplies
Who Qualifies:
Youth currently in 3rd-7th grades, attending school in Adams County School Districts 50, 14, 12, and 27J
(Limited openings for K-2nd grades, they must have a sibling in 3rd-7th grades)

Transportation arrangements for 27J students to Adams City Middle School will be finalized following the lottery and a student count is obtained. The family is responsible for the camp cost of $50.00 per child. There are no additional fees and entering the lottery is free.
The deadline for entering the lottery is 4:30 p.m. on April 4, 2011.
