Brighton: Board and Commission positions available

The city of Brighton will accept applications for the following Board and Commission positions until 5 p.m. on Monday, March 21:

Historic Preservation Commission (one member opening): The Historic Preservation Commission reviews resources designating historic sites; reviews and makes decisions on alterations of historic sites; assists owners of historic properties on physical and financial aspects of historic preservation; and develops and assists in public education programs to historic preservation. The board meets on the second Thursday of every month from 6 to 8 p.m.
Urban Renewal Authority (two member openings): The Brighton Urban Renewal Authority (BURA) is dedicated to maintaining a sustainable and inclusive downtown district with a strong mix of commercial, residential, educational and cultural uses. They meet at 4:30 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of every month.

Liquor Licensing Authority (one alternate member opening): The Liquor Licensing Authority may grant and refuse licenses and special permits, and approve and deny applications for renewal and transfer of licenses for the sale of liquor. They meet at 6 p.m. on the first and third Monday of every month.
