Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Open House Next Tuesday

PUBLIC INVITED TO PROVIDE INPUT INTO THE PLANNING PROCESS

COMMERCE CITY – Commerce City residents are invited to attend an open house that will help create a city bicycle and pedestrian master plan. Residents will be asked for their feedback on destinations they would like to walk or bike to as well as their current experiences (both positive and negative) biking and walking throughout the city.

“Public input is an integral part of the process,” said City Manager Jerry Flannery. “The information we receive – both current concerns and future wish lists – will allow us to create a plan that can help increase non-motorized trips within the city and increase physical activity.”

A draft plan is expected for public review late summer, with a scheduled completion date in early 2012. Planning efforts were made possible through a Tri-County Health Department Communities Putting Prevention to Work initiative grant.
