EVA HENRY ANNOUNCES HER BID FOR THORNTON CITY COUNCIL

Eva Henry
On May 11, 2011, Eva Henry formally announced her bid for reelection for Ward 2 on Thornton’s City Council at Old Chicago with family, friends, and supporters.Eva Henry has lived within the Thornton community for over 38 years. She was raised and attended school here. Throughout this time, she learned the value of hard work and giving back to her community. Many of these years were difficult, as Eva struggled as a single mother raising two children, Maurice and Danielle, on her own. Eva recognized the value of her community and the help she received from her neighbors and her children's educators. She always taught her children to give back to the community, as this is the foundation to strong communal ties. Eva has spent several years in community service, actively engaging in working family issues and volunteering in the schools. She has a great passion for Thornton and chose to serve her community in City Council.

Eva believes in community involvement and has engaged in numerous projects that involve social justice and veterans issues. She has been involved in several groups that work on subjects important to families. She left her eighteen year career in finance in 2007 to become a full time advocate for working families.

Eva's passion is advocating for the families in Thornton. She taught her children to give back to society. Her son serves in the military and her daughter fights for working families. She continues to expand that sense of commitment to the rest of the city.
