Commerce City gets Money for Fairfax Park Improvements

Commerce City will receive $312,000 from Adams County Open Space; $261,668 city match to make greatly needed improvements to Fairfax Park. The funds will be used to make improvements to Fairfax Park irrigation system and a new maintenance building.

Twenty thousand residents live in the southern portion of Commerce City with Fairfax Park being the second largest park in this area. Several recreational baseball and softball leagues as well as youth baseball, softball and soccer programs support this project. Fairfax had been an important part of Commerce City for over 35 years and implementing the current master plan for the park will ensure that residents are able to enjoy it for many more years to come.
