Horse Event Moratorium Extended at Adams County Fairgrounds

Due to a confirmed outbreak of Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1) throughout the western United States and Canada, Adams County has elected to extend its moratorium on all equine-related events through June 5, 2011 as a precautionary measure. Adams County is also prohibiting the boarding of horses and camelids at the county fairgrounds located at 9755 Henderson Road in Brighton through June 5.

Adams County will re-evaluate this precautionary measure as more information comes to light in early June.

EHV-1 is a highly contagious strain which specifically attacks horses and camelids.
