The Board of Education at its May 24, 2011 meeting declared a vacancy for Director District 1. This vacancy has occurred due to Brian Madison resigning. He and his family will be moving outside his director district boundary.The Board has requested that interested candidates who reside in Director District 1 submit the following to the Superintendent’s office, 18551 E. 160th Ave., Brighton, Colorado 80601.
. Provide a resume or short biography that includes education completed, current employment, professional and civic organizations to which you belong.
· What do you see as quality in a learning organization? What criteria will you use to determine quality and what will you contribute toward improving the quality of the organization?
· To improve student achievement, school boards must work with members of the community to determine what the public expects from schools. What do you think are the expectations of our community in regards to education? How would you gather this input and how would you evaluate the feedback?
· Please, share an example of a time when you had to work with a small group to make a big decision that affected others.
The Board of Education applications will be received through June 24, 2011. The Board will then interview candidates on July 19 and appoint a new member on August 9, 2011.
