As part of implementing the city's Economic Development Strategic Plan, the Commerce City Economic Development Citizen Advisory Committee (ED-CAC) and the Commerce City Economic Development Business Advisory Committee (ED-BAC) were formed. These committees are made up of a diverse group of volunteers representing residents from all geographical locations in Commerce City, as well as existing and prospective businesses within the city's target industries... The members of the committees include: ED-CAC members identified include: Jared Aylor, Shirley Curless, Crystal Elliott, Rachel Johnson, Warren Jones, Janet Keesey, Casey Kime, Dafna Michaelson, Leonard Newson, Maura O’Neal, Estelle Remington, Larry Simon, Gabriel Thatcher and Gini Werder.
ED-BAC members identified include: Ed Anderson, Precast Concepts; Kate Bechtholdt, Douglass Colony Group; Rod Blunck, School District 27J; Jimmy Burds, Colographics; John Chin, Adams 14 Foundation; Joel Coen, Exodus Moving and Storage; Larry Cornell, Phill Foster and Company; Patrick Donovan, Revolution Foods; David Foster, Foster, Foster, Graham & Calisher; Maria Gonzalez, Gonzalez Insurance Group; Brian Hennessy, Rocky Mountain Recycling; Kittie Hook, Cassidy Turley; Sean Nohavec, UMB Bank; Deb Obermeyer, Metro North Chamber; Enrique Orozco, Farmer’s Insurance; David Pocs, LPL Financial Advisor; Rob Sieban, Mile High Marketplace; Brett Steinbar, North Forest Office Space; Ted Thonus, Cottonwood Communications; and Phil Workman, Workman Associates, LLC.
The purpose of the ED-CAC and ED-BAC is to:
-Promote public involvement in economic development to further the economic success of Commerce City;
-Provide independent-citizen and business community input and feedback on Commerce City economic development issues and proposed policies; and
-Act as community stewards to help educate other residents and businesses on Commerce City-specific economic development programs, issues and progress.
