The School District 27J Board of Education will consider the appointment of Roberta (Berta) Thimmig as the new Director of District 1 at their meeting of August 9th, 2011. Ms. Thimmig was the sole resident of District 1 to submit the required packet by the deadline, declaring her interest in serving out the remainder of the term. Her term will expire on November 1, 2011. The director position was vacated by Brian Madison who resigned from his seat on May 24, 2011. Mr. Madison has moved outside of his director district boundaries. In anticipation of Ms. Thimmig’s appointment Board President Joan Kniss provided this quote: “We are extremely pleased that Berta Thimmig will be appointed to our Board. She brings an impressive educational background and deep community connections which will greatly benefit the Board of Education. We look forward to her expertise.”
The official appointment and swearing in ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on August 9, 2011be at the School District 27 Training Room, 80 S. 8th, Brighton, CO. The public is invited to attend.
