Denver POST: Quality Paving VP paid $10,000 to Adams County official, lawyer claims

A scandal surrounding the cozy relationship between a private paving company and Adams County officials took a bizarre turn Friday when a lawyer disclosed that a company vice president was prepared to testify that he paid a sitting commissioner $10,000 in cash.

The lawyer, Todd Calvert, also said in court that former Quality Paving vice president Dennis Coen claims that on the day he and former company president Jerry Rhea made that payment to Commissioner Alice Nichol, the district attorney prosecuting the Quality Paving case happened to visit the Nichol home. full story click here...
