27 Year Old Man Dies at Phish Concert in Commerce City...

At approximately 10:45 this morning, the Commerce City Police Department responded to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, 6000 Victory Way, on a report of an unresponsive male on one of the fields.

The stadium, home to the Colorado Rapids, is the site of a three day concert series by the band PHISH. The complex has allowed overnight camping on the grounds for the concert goers.

A white male in his late 20’s was found by other campers slumped over in a camping chair. The campers said the male had been observed in that position for several hours, and they were checking on him. When they determined he was unresponsive, 9-1-1 was called. The male was transported to an area hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

The 27 year old male from Georgia has been positively identified by police, and notification of his family is underway.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, but investigators do not suspect foul play in this incident. More information will be released as it becomes available.
