COMMERCE CITY ― On October 4, 2011 at about 6:56 a.m., officers were called to the scene of a single-car rollover accident in the 6500 block of Sandcreek Drive South. Officers arrived and located a silver Subaru on the bike path, occupied by a male and female. Both parties were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.The Subaru was driving eastbound on Sandcreek Drive South and attempting to pass another vehicle while going around a curve. However, a semi was travelling westbound, which caused the Subaru to swerve back into the eastbound lane to avoid a collision. The Subaru drove over the embankment and ended up on the bike path below. The drivers of the semi and other vehicle involved have not been identified.
The accident is being investigated by the Commerce City Police Department.
