Festival of Lights Parade this Saturday in Brighton

The city of Brighton proudly presents the 16th Annual Festival of Lights Parade at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10. The parade will begin on North Main and head east on Bridge Street and south on 10th. More than 75 fully-lighted floats will be featured which highlight the theme of “A Hometown Holiday Tradition.”

Additional Winter Festival activities include:

10 a.m. – Free Children’s Matinee - AMC Theaters, Pavilions

Admission is free; seating is limited

11 a.m. – Business Open House – Historic Downtown

Many businesses will open their doors and hearts to the citizens of Brighton and the surrounding areas with special sales, holiday activities and refreshments.

2 p.m. – Winter Festival - Historic City Hall, 22 S. 4th Ave.

Brighton Action Stage – local dance groups will perform.
Santa visits
Petting zoo
Hay rides
Teddy Bear tree
Entertainment and food

4:15 p.m.(registration begins at 3 p.m.) – 3rd Annual Paw/Pal Run

Team up with “man’s best friend” to run this 1.5k fun run/walk down Main Street from Longspeak to

Bridge Street and through downtown. Information: 720-422-0591

4:30 p.m. - Tree Lighting Ceremony - Historic City Hall, 22 S. 4th Ave.

Mayor McLean and City Council members will count down the lighting of the three-story evergreen tree covered in more than 6,000 lights.

7:30 p.m. – Platte Valley Players presents It’s a Wonderful Life Radio Show - The Armory at Brighton Cultural Center, 300 Strong St.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and children 12 and under. At the door or online: plattevalleyplayers.org.
