Local street closures required for railroad work

COMMERCE CITY, COLO. – Work by the Rock Island and Union Pacific Railroads will require local street closures the next two weeks to facilitate work on track crossings.

On Wednesday, Jan. 25, Dahlia Street between E. 52nd and E. 56th Avenues will be closed for emergency crossing repairs. The road is scheduled to reopen Friday, Jan. 27. Motorists should use Colorado Boulevard as an alternate route.

On Tuesday, Jan. 31, 96th Avenue between Brighton Road and Yosemite Street will be closed for repair work. During the closure, motorists should use 88th Avenue or 104th Avenue as an alternate route. The road is scheduled to reopen Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012.

All work is weather dependent and signage will direct motorists along the detour route.
